MILWAUKEE, WI — A woman was hospitalized Monday night after a crash involving a Milwaukee Police Department squad car in northwest Milwaukee, according to WISN.
The accident occurred at the corner of 76th Street and Mill Road, in the city’s Menomonee River Hills area, shortly after 9:30 p.m.
MPD officials said a marked cruiser was responding to a shooting in the area. A surveillance camera at a nearby business captured the cruiser heading eastbound on Mill Road with its lights flashing. Just after the squad entered the intersection on a red light, it was struck on the back by a white SUV heading southbound on 76th Street.
The driver of the SUV, a 53-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
