MILWAUKEE, WI — A 27-year-old woman died late Saturday after a pedestrian crash involving two different vehicles in Milwaukee’s Clarke Square area, according to TMJ4.
The events unfolded near South 22nd Street and West Greenfield Avenue on July 15, at about 10:20 p.m.
Milwaukee Police said the woman was crossing Greenfield Avenue on foot when she was hit by the first driver in an eastbound vehicle, which continued down the road without stopping. Shortly after, the woman was struck a second time by another eastbound vehicle whose driver, a 52-year-old Plymouth man, stayed at the scene until authorities arrived.
First responders rushed the victim to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
The second driver, who was taken into custody, faces criminal charges pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
At this time, an investigation and search for the hit-and-run driver remains ongoing.
