OCONTO COUNTY, WI — A 19-year-old woman died Saturday evening after a motorcycle and another vehicle collided on U.S. Highway 41 in the Town of Little River, reports NBC26.
The wreck occurred on the northbound side of US-41, south of County Road W, shortly after 7:00 p.m.
According to the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, a 23-year-old Illinois man was driving an SUV northbound at the same time a 21-year-old man was operating a motorcycle northbound. A crash occurred between the vehicles while the motorcycle operator was changing lanes.
Officials said the victim, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was ejected during the accident. First responders worked to administer life-saving measures to the teen, but she later succumbed to her injuries at an area hospital.
It remains unclear at this time what caused the collision, but an investigation by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office remains ongoing.
