KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — A man was was seriously injured Friday morning, June 30, when a tractor-trailer he was driving crashed off a roadway and caught fire in Somers, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.
Kenosha County officials said the accident occurred on 7th Street, shortly before 10:30 a.m.
Preliminary details show the man was driving a semi-tractor and trailer eastbound on the road. At one point, for reasons still unclear, the driver lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the roadway and collided with a utility pole and two trees. The crash sent power lines falling onto the big rig, which caused the vehicle and the surrounding field to catch fire.
Authorities said the male driver suffered serious injuries as a result of the wreck, but no other details on his condition have been disclosed.
