BROWN COUNTY, WI — Two men died last Friday, July 21, after a two-vehicle wreck near Green Bay’s city limits that left several other people injured, according to WBAY.

The fatal collision occurred in front of a Kwik Trip store, located on the 2200 block of South Webster Avenue in Allouez.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office said Luis Rios-Alvarado, 28, was driving a Toyota Scion southbound on Webster Avenue when he tried to turn left onto Allouez Avenue. Moments later, the Toyota was struck by a Mercedes that was traveling into the city at a high rate of speed. The impact of the crash sent the Mercedes into the parking lot of the Kwik Trip, while the Toyota came to a stop in the middle of Webster Avenue.

Authorities confirmed Rios and a passenger in the Mercedes, 22-year-old Trevor M. Hermon, succumbed to their injuries before they could be transported to an area hospital.

Four other people suffered unspecified injuries and were taken to local hospitals, where one of the patients is listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Mercedes, 22-year-old Kelton J. Snulligan, remains hospitalized. He is expected to make his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.

It remains unclear at this time whether anyone else in the Mercedes will be facing charges.

An investigation by the BCSO’s Crash Reconstruction Unit remains underway, but alcohol and speed are believed to have contributed to the crash.
