WAUSHARA COUNTY, WI — A 29-year-old Alabama man died Sunday morning after pickup truck overturned on Interstate 39 near Hancock, injuring two other people, reports CBS58.
The rollover crash occurred on the southbound side of I-39 at milepost 32, about a mile south of County Highway O. It was first reported at around 11:43 a.m.
Authorities did not say what caused the wreck, but the Wisconsin State Patrol and Waushara County EMS personnel responded to the scene where a 2003 Ford utility truck had overturned.
The decedent, a resident of Deatsville, Alabama, was ejected from the pickup during the crash. First responders worked to administer CPR to the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver, a 31-year-old Bellflower, California man, and one other passenger, a 21-year-old man from Kingwood, Texas, were both rushed to UW Hospital in Madison. No information on the extent of their injuries has been shared.
A section of the southbound interstate was shut down for nearly 30 minutes.
An investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol remains underway.
