WASHINGTON COUNTY, WI — A 21-year-old man died late Thursday after a wreck on County Highway K in the Town of Hartford that left a woman seriously hurt, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The accident occurred on a span of County Highway K at Interstate 41, at around 11:00 p.m.
According to Washington County officials, the young man was driving westbound when his vehicle hit a vehicle that was turning onto the northbound I-41 onramp.
The driver of the striking car, a local resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials.
First responders had to extricate the other driver, a 64-year-old woman from Fond du Lac County, out of the second vehicle. She was then transported by Flight for Life to an area hospital where her condition remains undisclosed.
Authorities had part of the roadway shut down for about six hours during the emergency response.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.
