WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A Milwaukee resident has turned himself in following a hit-and-run crash last Friday, June 2, on Interstate 94 in Brookfield, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred on I-94 westbound near West Bluemound Road, at about 6:00 a.m.
According to prosecutors, the suspect, Bradley Haynes, was behind the wheel of a Mini Cooper when he attempted to merged into a lane occupied by a red sedan, causing the sedan to collide with the median wall.
As a result of that crash, debris struck and shattered the windshield of a third vehicle, which was traveling behind the Mini Cooper. The driver of that third vehicle said they then saw the suspect leave the scene in a white SUV, after explaining he “needed to get to work.”
No major injuries were reported in the incident.
Later that day, the suspect, whose vehicle title was found inside the Mini Cooper, turned himself into authorities. Though he admitted to his involvement and to fleeing the scene, he denied causing the accident.
Prosecutors noted the suspect was on probation at the time of the wreck. He made his first court appearance on June 5 and was given a $2,500 signature bond.
