MILWAUKEE, WI — A 16-year-old boy died Monday morning after his moped collided with a truck at an intersection in southwest Milwaukee, reports TMJ4.
The incident occurred at South 26th Street and West Greenfield Avenue, in the city’s Clarke Square neighborhood, at about 10:00 a.m.
Details remain limited, but the Milwaukee Police Department said the teen was operating a moped at a high rate of speed when the bike struck a truck that was making a turn.
First responders rushed the teen to an area hospital where he was later succumbed to his injuries, confirmed officials.
The truck driver stayed after the crash and cooperated with investigators.
MPD officials said the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is expected to review the case.
