The events unfolded near North 36th Street and West Florist Avenue, in the Thurston Woods area, at about 10:30 p.m.
According to Milwaukee Police, the woman was driving a car with five children on board when the vehicle hit a 42-year-old man. Moments fleeing the scene with officers in pursuit, her car collided with multiple parked vehicles and a pole in the aera of 35th and Silver Spring Drive.
Authorities said the male pedestrian, who suffered serious injuries, was transported to a local hospital.
A 6-year-old boy in the car was taken to the hospital for injuries considered non-life-threatening. Two boys, ages 6 and 3, and two girls, ages 10 and 9, were treated at the scene, as well as a 1-year-old baby girl.
The female driver, who was arrested, faces a number of charges pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
