RACINE COUNTY, WI — A 49-year-old Racine man died Friday, May 26, after being hit by a vehicle on Wisconsin State Highway 32 in southeast Mount Pleasant, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.
Officers with the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to the scene on the southbound highway (Sheridan Road) and Larson Street at about 10:00 p.m.
An early investigation indicates a male pedestrian was struck by a southbound vehicle whose driver fled the scene. After the crash, callers reported seeing vehicles swerving around the victim, who was left lying in the roadway.
Mount Pleasant Police continue to investigate, but the hit-and-run vehicle is believed to be a dark gray or silver metallic 2013-2017 Honda Accord. It likely has significant front-end damage, including left-side mirror and windshield damage.
