MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A semi-truck overturned Thursday afternoon, spilling 80,000 pounds of a cement slurry mix onto an Interstate 894 ramp near Greenfield, according to TMJ4.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred on the I-894 ramp that runs from east to west at the Hale Interchange, causing a full and extended closure of the exit as of 3:30 p.m.
It was unclear what led up to the crash, but no serious injuries were reported.
Motorists were asked to avoid the scene by detouring at Layton and then heading east. The sheriff’s office said it will likely take crews hours to clear the cement spill.
An investigation into the wreck was underway.
