MILWAUKEE, WI — A 38-year-old man died Sunday afternoon after his electric scooter collided with a motorcycle in Milwaukee’s south side, reports TMJ4.
The fatal accident took place at the intersection of South 27th Street and West Forest Home Avenue. First responders arrived on the scene at about 4:00 p.m.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the man was operating an electric scooter westbound on Forest Home Avenue when he ran a red light. Moments later, his scooter was struck by a 20-year-old motorcyclist who was traveling southbound on 27th Street on a green light.
The scooter driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials.
The motorcyclist, who suffered serious injuries, was transported to a local hospital.
