FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI — A 50-year-old woman died Tuesday morning following a single-vehicle crash on County Highway B near the Village of Eden, reports NBC26.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said the accident took place just east of the village at around 7:54 a.m.
According to a preliminary investigation, the woman was driving eastbound on the road when the vehicle veered past the centerline and into a grassy ditch. It continued traveling until it collided with a tree and came to a stop.
First responders arrived to find the woman, who was trapped inside the vehicle, unresponsive and having difficulty breathing. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene shortly after.
An investigation remains in progress, but speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the event.
