FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI — At least two people were hospitalized Wednesday, April 12, after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 151 near northeast Waupun, reports NBC26.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said the wreck occurred just behind the scene of another crash, south of County Highway AS.
According to officials, deputies were investigating a separate two-vehicle collision on US-151 at the time. Multiple squad cars with emergency lights activated were parked on the shoulder just south of the scene to alert approaching motorists.
Dash camera footage shows a semi-truck traveling at a relatively high rate of speed for the conditions as it approached the scene. It is eventually seen colliding with the back of a passenger car in the left lane.
The sheriff’s office indicated that more than one person in the struck car was transported to a local hospital.The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
Officials noted that no deputies or victims from the initial crash were injured in the secondary crash.
