MILWAUKEE, WI – A Milwaukee man was taken into custody following a police chase and crash on Saturday that left two injured, including a young child.

According to Fox 6, the pursuit began when officers tried to stop a vehicle for illegal tint and suspected drug dealing. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop, accelerated, and drove recklessly.

The officers initiated a vehicle pursuit, which came to an end when the suspect vehicle disregarded a red light at N. 51st Street and W. Silver Spring Drive, and collided with another vehicle. The impact of the collision caused the suspect vehicle to strike a third vehicle.

A 21-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the second vehicle involved in the collision, was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. An 11-month-old boy who was in the same vehicle was also hospitalized with serious injuries. Both victims are expected to survive.

The driver and sole occupant of the suspect vehicle, a 21-year-old man from Milwaukee, was hospitalized with less serious injuries. He was arrested upon release.
