WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — A 6-year-old child died last Wednesday, March 29, following a collision on Wisconsin State Highway 59 in south Waukesha, reports CBS58.
Waukesha Police and Fire Department crews responded to the scene at the intersection with South West Avenue, shortly after 8:00 p.m.
The circumstances of the accident were not immediately disclosed, but first responders worked to apply life-saving measures to multiple victims before the patients were transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
Officials said a 6-year-old child was later pronounced deceased.
The intersection was shut down during the emergency response.
It was unclear how many other people were injured, but all involved drivers had been released from the scene and continue to cooperate with investigators.
