WALWORTH COUNTY, WI — One person was airlifted to a hospital Friday morning after a two-vehicle collision on County Highway A near the Town of Richmond, reports CBS58.
The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal wreck occurred near Johnson Road shortly before 11:30 a.m.
An early investigation found that a vehicle was traveling eastbound on County Highway A when it veered past the center line and collided with the victim vehicle. The impact of the crash caused the second vehicle to catch on fire and become fully engulfed in flames.
The victim, who was able to be removed from the vehicle, received treatment at the scene before being transported by Flight for Life to an area trauma center.
Authorities said the causing driver was issued a citation for “operating left of center, causing great bodily harm.”
At this time, no updates on the victim’s condition have been released, and no other information has been reported.
