MILWAUKEE, WI — Three people were injured due to a crash Wednesday morning after a vehicle ran a red light in Milwaukee’s south side, according to FOX 6 Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Police were called to the scene in the area of South Layton Boulevard and West Burnham Street, shortly after 12:00 p.m.
A preliminary investigation shows a 21-year-old female driver failed to stop at a red light, causing her vehicle to strike an SUV in the intersection. The impact of the crash, which sent both vehicles off the roadway, caused the SUV to overturn and come to rest on part of a traffic pole,
First responders had to extricate the 51-year-old male passenger who had become trapped in the SUV. He and the driver of the SUV, a 39-year-old woman, both suffered non-fatal injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
The driver of the causing vehicle, a 21-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
At this time, authorities have not released any information regarding possible charges.
