DANE CO., WI – A 22-year-old man was arrested by authorities on Monday following a fatal crash in the Village of Dane, according to NBC 15.
At approximately 12:10 p.m., authorities responded to a three-vehicle crash at the 100 block of Main Street.
Witnesses told police that a Ford F-350 was seen speeding out of the BP gas station on Main Street, failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Military Road and Main Street, and colliding with a Nissan Frontier pick-up truck. The Ford then side-swiped a Ford Escape that was stationary on County Highway DM, causing the Escape to overturn.
The 52-year-old man who was driving the Ford Escape was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld at this time.
The 22-year-old driver of the F-350 was subjected to a field sobriety test by officials before being taken to a local hospital for a blood draw. Subsequently, he was taken into custody and transported to the Dane County Jail. He is facing charges of homicide by negligent use of a motor vehicle.
