CALUMET COUNTY, WI — A 19-year-old Grand Chute resident died Saturday night after a two-vehicle wreck near east Menasha that left two others critically hurt, reports NBC26.

The fatal collision occurred in the area of Oneida Street (U.S. Highway 10) and Wisconsin State Highway 114 (Plank Road), just southwest of the Village of Harrison. Officials with the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene at 8:15 p.m.

An early investigation indicates a sedan carrying three people was heading eastbound on WIS-114 at the intersection when its driver’s side door was hit by a pickup truck traveling southbound on Oneida Street.

First responders worked to extricate the 19-year-old male driver of the sedan before rushing him to Theda Care Regional Medical Center – Neenah. He later died from his injuries.

One of his passengers, a 32-year-old Menasha woman, also had to be extricated from the wreckage. She was also transported to Theda Care in Neenah, where she was listed in critical condition.

Another passenger in the sedan, a 33-year-old Menasha man, was found in unstable condition and rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Authorities said the driver of the pickup, a 59-year-old Kaukauna woman, was not reported hurt. After intoxication and speed were determined to have been factors in the wreck, she was taken into custody for “homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.”

An investigation remains ongoing.
