MILWAUKEE, WI — Two people were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after a shooting caused a vehicle to strike a parked MCTS bus in north Milwaukee, reports WISN.
The incident occurred near the intersection of North Green Bay Road (Wisconsin Highway 57) and West Hampton Avenue, along Lincoln Park. It was first reported shortly after 12:10 p.m.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, a person in one vehicle opened gunfire at a second vehicle. The second driver then veered and crashed their vehicle into a parked Milwaukee County Transit System bus.
Authorities said the suspect vehicle sped away from the scene. The driver of the crash-involved vehicle, a 26-year-old man, also left the scene but went to a local hospital. His injuries were described as serious but non-life-threatening.
First responders transported the bus driver, a 64-year-old woman, to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No passengers appeared to have been on the bus at the time, and no one else was reported hurt.
At this time, the MPD continue to search for the shooting suspect.
