RACINE COUNTY, WI — An 18-year-old woman died Tuesday night after a vehicle struck two parked cars in Racine, leaving at least two others injured, reports TMJ4.
The fatal collision occurred in the area of 18th Street and Mead Street. Officers with the Racine Police Department responded to the scene shortly after 10:30 p.m.
An early investigation indicates an 18-year-old man was driving a GMC SUV at a high rate of speed on Mead Street when he lost control. Moments later, the vehicle collided with two parked cars and overturned.
First responders arrived to find an 18-year-old female passenger unresponsive in the heavily damaged GMC. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials said three passengers in the GMC included a 20-year-old man, an 18-year-old man, and another 18-year-old woman. Of the three, two were transported to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The driver, who was suspected of intoxication, was arrested following the wreck.
Racine Police continue to investigate.
