RACINE COUNTY, WI — Two people were injured late Thursday due to a rollover wreck on Wisconsin State Highway 31 near northeast Mount Pleasant, according to TMJ4.
Mount Pleasant Police responded to the scene on the northbound lanes (South Green Bay Road) at Shirley Avenue, just before midnight.
Investigators said a 71-year-old Racine man was driving a Chevy Silverado southbound on WIS-31 when he tried to turn left onto Shirley Avenue. After failing to yield to the right of way of a Lincoln MKZ traveling northbound, causing a crash.
First responders rushed both drivers to an area hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening. The causing driver, who displayed signs of impairment at the scene, was taken into custody for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) – Causing Injury.
An investigation by Mount Pleasant Police remains ongoing.
