ONEIDA COUNTY, WI — A 55-year-old man died last Friday, February 24, after a snowmobile crash in the town of Little Rice, reports NBC26.
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal accident occurred on Kelly Dam Road, just north of Old 8 Road. Deputies responded to the scene shortly before 7:00 p.m.
Few details have been released, but authorities said the man was operating a snowmobile that collided head-on with another vehicle. First responders pronounced him deceased at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Tomahawk’s Aspirus Hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
An investigation and crash report is expected to be completed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Multiple other agencies, including the Little Rice Fire Department, Little Rice First Responders, and Nokomis Fire Department, assisted at the scene.
