MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI — A 36-year-old man died Wednesday after a semi-truck ran into a ditch and overturned in northwest Two Rivers, according to We Are Green Bay.
The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal accident occurred on the eastbound lanes of County Highway V. Deputies and first responders responded to the scene at around 9:30 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate the victim was driving a 2019 Freightliner semi-tractor with a loaded trailer unit eastbound on the highway. At one point, for reasons still being investigated, the vehicle traveled off the roadway and into a ditch, causing the semi to roll and come to rest on the roof of its cab.
The male driver and sole occupant of the semi died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.
As the Wisconsin State Patrol concludes a reconstruction of the accident, more information is expected to be released later.
