MILWAUKEE, WI — Three teenagers were taken into custody Monday night after a short police pursuit led to an injury crash in downtown Milwaukee, reports TMJ4.
The collision took place near North 18th Street and West Highland Avenue, in the Avenues West neighborhood, just after 11:00 p.m.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, officers first spotted a vehicle traveling recklessly near 10th and National. After leading police on a chase for nearly 8 minutes, the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle.
Three occupants in the suspect vehicle, ages 16, 17 and 19, attempted to flee the scene on foot but were later apprehended by both Milwaukee and Marquette University officers. Officials said two firearms and suspected narcotics were recovered from the vehicle.
First responders transported the driver of the victim vehicle to an area hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
