MILWAUKEE, WI — A 23-year-old man died Sunday morning after his car slammed into a residence while speeding in northwest Milwaukee, according to TMJ4.
The fatal wreck took place at North 60th Street and West Melvina Street, in the city’s Grasslyn Manor area. Milwaukee Police and Fire Departments were called to the scene shortly after 10:00 a.m.
A preliminary investigation shows the young man was speeding southbound on 60th Street along with a 44-year-old driver in a second vehicle. At one point, the 23-year-old man swerved to avoid a crash with a third vehicle but ended up crashing into home one block down.
The driver of the striking car was pronounced deceased at the scene confirmed officials.
The 44-year-old male driver was arrested following the accident and now faces pending charges.
No other injuries have been reported.
Authorities noted significant damage to the front of the impacted home, but no other information has been provided.
