KENOSHA COUNTY, WI — A man was taken into custody early Saturday after a high-speed police chase led to a crash in Pleasant Prairie, according to FOX 6 Milwaukee.
The two-vehicle wreck occurred on Green Bay Road shortly after 12:00 a.m.
Authorities said officers had tried to pull over a car that was weaving in and out of its lane. Even though the driver initially stopped, he sped away and turned off his lights while traveling at up to 100 miles per hour. Eventually, the fleeing car collided with a truck.
It was unclear whether the suspect was injured in the crash, but police said the truck driver was not reported hurt.
Officers recovered a loaded handgun and a container of empty beer cans from the suspect’s vehicle. He has since been charged with multiple offenses, including Operating While Intoxicated – First Offense, two misdemeanors, Felony – First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Felony- Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Felony – Fleeing.
