WASHINGTON COUNTY, WI — Three people were hurt Thursday afternoon due to a crash involving 30 vehicles on Interstate 41 near northwest Allenton, according to WISN.
The pileup occurred on the southbound lanes at Exit 81 to Wisconsin State Highway 28, at the Dodge-Washington county line. It was first reported shortly after 2:00 p.m.
Officials have not disclosed the cause of the wreck, but multiple agencies responded to the scene in blizzard-like conditions. Six semi-tractor-trailers were among the 30 involved vehicles, and three people suffered injuries considered non-life-threatening.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol were both at the scene assisted stranded motorists and re-routing those traveling from I-41 southbound between STH-28 and County Highway D in the town of Wayne area.
Both agencies continue to investigate the incidents.
