WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — Two people were injured in a major wreck Sunday afternoon on Wisconsin State Highway 16 near the Village of Chenequa, reports WISN.
The accident happened on the eastbound highway between County Highway C (Lakeland Drive/Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive) and Wisconsin State Highway 83.
It was not immediately clear what led up to the collision, but two vehicles collided head-on in the eastbound lanes. A nurse practitioner who was in the car just behind one of the involved vehicles was able to pull one of the drivers out of her car and render aid. Responding crews had to remove the roof from the other vehicle to extricate the other driver.
Authorities said both patients were rushed, one by medical helicopter, to an area hospital.
At this time, no other information has been made available, and no charges have been reported.
