RACINE COUNTY, WI — Two women died Tuesday morning as a result of a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 94/41 near west Mount Pleasant, according to TMJ4.
The fatal accident occurred on the northbound lanes at Exit 333 to Wisconsin Highway 20, at about 2:45 a.m.
An early investigation by the Racine County Sheriff’s Office indicates a semi pulled over on the side of the roadway, prompting a driver in a second vehicle to slow down for the semi. Moments later, a third vehicle collided with both the second vehicle and the semi.
Authorities confirmed two women, aged 30 and 33, were pronounced deceased. It was unclear whether the two were traveling together or in separate vehicles.
A section of I-94 was closed for an extended time during the response, which was complicated by snowfall in the area.
