OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI — A vehicle accident Wednesday evening caused a traffic backup on Interstate 41 in northwest Appleton, according to We Are Green Bay.
The wreck occurred on the northbound lanes at the onramp from Wisconsin Highway 96. It was first reported by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation at 6:10 p.m.
Few details have been released, but two left lanes were closed in the immediate aftermath as authorities with the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office handled the scene.
The scene was expected to be cleared about an hour from the initial report, but 6:39 p.m., WisDOT officials reported all lanes were reopened to motorists.
At this time, the cause of the accident remains unclear, and the sheriff’s office has not shared any details regarding potential injuries.
