SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI — A woman was critically injured early Thursday evening when she was hit by a vehicle on Wisconsin Highway 32 in Sheboygan Falls, reports FOX 6 Milwaukee.
Authorities said the incident took place near Forest Avenue at around 5:20 p.m.
An early investigation indicates the woman was trying to walk across the highway (North Main Street) when a northbound vehicles struck her.
Upon arrival, first responders administered life-saving measures on the victim. She was initially rushed to an area hospital and then airlifted to another medical center for further treatment. The extent of her injuries remains unclear, but officials said she was last listed in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene following the crash and cooperated with investigators.
Wisconsin State Patrol troopers were conducting a reconstruction of the incident.
