MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — A vehicle wreck early Thursday evening blocked up to two right lanes on Interstate 41/U.S. Highway 45 in Wauwatosa, according to TTWN Milwaukee.
The collision occurred near North Mayfair Road and was first reported by TTWN at 5:40 p.m.
It was unclear what caused the accident, but only a right lane was initially blocked on the southbound highway. By 6:55 a.m., more than an hour later two right northbound lanes were announced closed, and traffic had become backed up to Wisconsin Avenue.

At 7:20 a.m., about 25 minutes after, the closure remained in place, suggesting a serious crash and extended emergency response.
