MILWAUKEE, WI — A 17-year-old boy has been charged for his alleged role in a multi-vehicle injury wreck during a police chase last Wednesday in Milwaukee’s Long View area, reports CBS58.
The collision occurred near the corner of North 76th Street and West Villard Avenue on February 3 shortly after 1:35 p.m.
Milwaukee police said the suspect stole a Jeep from a Lyft driver and led police on a high-speed pursuit. The chase ended with the stolen vehicle flipping and going airborne before crashing into another driver and multiple parked cars at a nearby auto lot.
Five people, including the suspect, his two passengers, and two occupants in another moving vehicle, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
The teen driver now faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, two counts of eluding an officer, second degree recklessly endangering safety, two counts of eluding an officer causing damage to property, first degree reckless injury, first degree recklessly endangering safety, and “possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18.”
