News: Accident blocks two lanes on I-43 SB near Marquette University

MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities responded to a crash late Monday afternoon on Interstate 43 in Milwaukee’s Westown area, according to 511 Wisconsin.

The accident happened on the southbound lanes approaching Wells Street, just northeast of Marquette University. It was first reported by 511 shortly before 5:00 p.m.

Little information has been made available, but two left southbound lanes were blocked for over an hour.

By 6:05 p.m., the scene was moved to the shoulder, and more than 30 minutes later, crews had cleared out of the area.

It’s unclear at this time what led up to the wreck and whether anyone was seriously hurt.
