MILWAUKEE, WI — Two people were hospitalized last Thursday following a police pursuit and crash in northwest Milwaukee, reports TMJ4.

The chase terminated in a wreck in Lincoln Creek, just south of West Congress Street and North 45th Street, some time after 11:16 a.m. on January 11.

Milwaukee Police said officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that matched a vehicle linked to a January 10 abduction. When the driver refused to stop, a pursuit was initiated. The fleeing vehicle ultimately lost control and landed in the body of water, where an officer’s squad car also ended up sliding into.

The suspect vehicle’s teen driver was arrested at the scene, along with the 17-year-old passenger who led officers on a short foot chase. Both suspects were transported to an area hospital for unspecified injuries. A firearm was also recovered from the scene.

The officers were not reported hurt.

An investigation remains underway. Officials said the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is expected to review criminal charges.
