WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — An armed carjacking suspect was hurt in a wreck Tuesday in Pewaukee following a pursuit involving authorities from several jurisdictions, reports TMJ4.
The chase ended in a collision outside Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin, off Golf Road. Wisconsin State Patrol, the Waukesha Sheriff’s Department and local police were first alerted to the pursuit entering Waukesha County at around 2:00 p.m.
According to officials, the suspect, who was operating a vehicle reported stolen out of Milwaukee, reportedly drove to Illinois where they engaged in a number of other unspecified crimes and then was ultimately apprehended by officers in Pewaukee.
The suspect’s car was pitted before it stopped in a marshy area near Orthopaedic Associates of Wisconsin. He was observed attempting to rev his engine to continue fleeing before he was intercepted by officers and the City of Waukesha Police Department K9.
First responders transported the suspect to a hospital for unspecified injuries.
While no one else was reported hurt, four police cars sustained damage.
An investigation remains ongoing, and charges are pending.
