SHAWANO COUNTY, WI — A 13-year-old boy who was critically injured due to an ATV accident Tuesday afternoon in the township of Wittenburg has succumbed to his injuries, reports NBC26.
The accident occurred in the area of Nightingale Road and Oak Road on November 7, shortly after 4:30 p.m.
According to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, the boy was operating the all-terrain vehicle in a nearby field when it rolled over, pinning him underneath.
The teen, who was reportedly unconscious when first responders arrived on the scene, was rushed to Aspirus Wausau Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was later transferred to a hospital in Marshfield.
The Shawano County was notified of the victim’s death on Thursday evening. No other information has been made available.
