WAUPACA COUNTY, WI — A driver suspected of operating while intoxicated was arrested Thursday night after a rollover semi-truck crash in southwest Waupaca, reports WBAY.
The wreck took place on a stretch of U.S. Highway 10 at the Wisconsin State Highway 22/54 transition (Exit 252). It was first reported shortly before 7:00 p.m.
According to local police, the semi was traveling eastbound when its driver failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, causing the semi to overturn and come to rest on its side.
Authorities said the driver, who was able to self-extricate and was not reported injured, was taken into custody under suspicion of driving while impaired.
Crews had the eastbound exit ramp shut down for an extended time during the response and removal of the semi.
