MILWAUKEE, WI — A vehicle became engulfed in flames early Wednesday after crashing into a student apartment building at Marquette University, reports WISN.
The incident occurred at the McCabe apartments off North 17th Street and West Wisconsin Avenue, shortly after 12:00 a.m., and hours before thousands of students were set to arrive for move-in.
Details are limited, but a Marquette University spokesperson said a car had collided with a light pole before slamming into the building.
Though footage of the event shows many students in the area where flames were jumping through the vehicle’s hood, no injuries were reported and no actual student apartments were impacted by damage.
Following the crash, the driver tried to flee the scene but was apprehended and arrested by Marquette University Police.
