SHAWANO COUNTY, WI — A 41-year-old man died Friday night, August 4, after his vehicle crashed off a roadway and overturned in a private yard near Gresham, reports WBAY.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office said the accident occurred on a span of Cherry Street, shortly after 8:00 p.m. Multiple agencies, including the Shawano County Coroner’s Office, Shawano Ambulance, and the Gresham Fire Department, joined the SCSO at the scene.
According to preliminary details, the man was driving eastbound on the road when, for reasons still being investigated, he lost control of the car. The vehicle struck part of a ditch before entering a residential yard, where it hit several trees and objects, flipping multiple times.
Authorities said the male driver, who was ejected during the crash, was found deceased on the scene by first responders. Authorities learned he was not wearing a seatbelt prior to the accident.
An investigation by the SCSO remains underway.
