MILWAUKEE, WI — A 20-year-old woman has been arrested for homicide after a crash Sunday night in Milwaukee’s north side that claimed the lives of five people, including a baby and three teenagers, reports TMJ4.
The multi-fatal crash happened at the intersection of North 60th Street and West Fond Du Lac Avenue, at about 11:45 p.m.
Preliminary details show the young woman was driving a Kia SUV at about 80 miles per hour, well over the zone’s posted speed limit, when she ran a red light. Moments later, the Kia collided with another car in the intersection.
Officials said a 1-year-old baby, two 15-year-olds, and a 17-year-old were all pronounced deceased following the crash.
Two other people who were in the SUV were transported to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. One of the patients, a 32-year-old man, later died.
The Milwaukee Police Department said in addition to the speeding driver, officers also arrested the driver of the second car for suspected impairment.
