MILWAUKEE, WI — An 11-year-old boy was hospitalized Saturday afternoon after a crash involving a stolen vehicle in Milwaukee’s Triangle area, reports TMJ4.

Milwaukee Police said the incident occurred at the corner of North 14th Street and West Galena Street, between Siefert Public School and Milwaukee Sanitation Division. It was first reported at about 2:45 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate a passenger car was swerving left and right before it lost control and slammed into a City of Milwaukee building.

The driver fled the scene on foot before authorities arrived, leaving behind an 11-year-old child passenger, who was ejected in the crash. First responders rushed the victim to an area hospital with major injuries.

No information regarding the driver has been released at this time, but the MPD have learned that the vehicle was stolen. An investigation and search for the unknown driver remains underway.
