MILWAUKEE, WI — One person died early Sunday after a two-vehicle crash in northwest Milwaukee’s Capitol Heights area, reports TMJ4.
Milwaukee Police said the incident took place near the corner of North 67th Street and West Capitol Drive at about 12:05 a.m.
A preliminary investigation shows one vehicle was traveling eastbound on West Capitol Drive at a high rate of speed. At one point, it struck and sent a second vehicle into a pole.
According to the MPD, the victim driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The driver of the striking vehicle exited their car and fled the scene on foot before authorities arrived.
