MILWAUKEE, WI — A woman was hospitalized Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle on North 8th Street in north Milwaukee, according to CBS58.
The incident took place at the intersection with West Keefe Avenue, in the city’s Arlington Heights neighborhood. Milwaukee Police and Milwaukee Fire Department crews responded to the scene shortly after.
It was unclear what led up to the crash, but authorities said the vehicle fled the scene after hitting the female pedestrian. No description of the fleeing vehicle has been released at this time.
First responders transported the victim to Froedtert Hospital with undisclosed injuries. As of this writing, the severity of her condition remains unknown to the public.
The Milwaukee Police Department continues to investigate.
