DANE COUNTY, WI — A 56-year-old woman died Tuesday morning after being hit by a vehicle while on a morning walk near her home in east Fitchburg, reports NBC15.
Fitchburg Police said the fatal incident occurred in the 2900 block of Syene Road/McCoy Road, just north of Lacy Road, at about 6:30 a.m.
Authorities have not released a sequence of events leading up to the crash, but the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital where she died as a result of her injuries. She has since been identified as the principal of Badger Ridge Middle School.
At this time, no pending charges have been reported.
