FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI — A 16-year-old boy died early Saturday after a single-vehicle crash that injured two other teens near southeast Taycheedah, reports TMJ4.

The fatal collision occurred on Golf Course Drive, east of Taft Road. Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and crews with the Mount Calvary Fire Department and Mount Calvary EMS responded to the scene at about 3:25 a.m.

An early investigation indicates a vehicle was heading westbound on Golf Course Drive at high speeds when it lost control. Moments later, the vehicle veered into the north shoulder, where it collided with a tree on the road’s north side.

Officials said deputies arrived to find three teenage occupants injured. The driver, a 16-year-old Mount Calvary-area resident, was airlifted by ThedaStar helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center. The backseat passenger, a 16-year-old Fond du Lac girl, was taken by ambulance to SSM Health – St. Agnes with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

The front-seat passenger, a 16-year-old Eldorado boy, died from his injuries at the scene, confirmed the sheriff’s office.

An investigation remains ongoing, but authorities said speed and alcohol were found to have contributed to the crash.
