WAUKESHA COUNTY, WI — One person died late Wednesday morning after a two-car wreck that left two people seriously injured near northeast Town of Lisbon, according to TMJ4.
The fatal crash happened at the intersection of Town Line Road (Waukesha V) and Schlei Road, at about 11:30 a.m.
An early investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office shows one driver and a passenger were in a car heading northbound on Town Line, when, for reasons unknown, the driver veered into the southbound lanes. Moments later, their car collided with a southbound vehicle.
Authorities said all occupants of both vehicles had to be extricated. The passenger of the northbound car died from their injuries at the scene. The driver of that vehicle, who suffered serious injuries, had to be airlifted to a hospital in Wauwatosa.
Medics transported the driver of the southbound vehicle to a Menomonee Falls hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.
A section of Town Line Road was closed for more than four hours as officials tended to the scene and conducted an investigation.
